Answers
.(A) The use of the semi-colon in the sentence shows that the missing word must imply what follows it immediately namely, once you go, you are likely to find yourself going again and again. Anything that results in inducing a habit in you is called addictive. So, 9A) is the answer.

.(A) The quality of Americans which enabled them to quickly outstrip their teachers must have been something desirable. The only desirable quality found among the choices is inventiveness, and this word gives a cogent meaning to the sentence. So, (A) is the answer.

.(C) Predators (meaning hunting a animals) will not be lured or encouraged by traps, poison or shotguns. So, (A) and (D) are ruled out while considering the choices for the first missing word. If predators are destroyed by traps, poison and shotguns, and therefore cause to feast on flocks of sheep, there is no need for the use of the conjunction although in the sentence. So, (B) is wrong. The same argument holds good for choice (E) also. It is the pair of words in (C) which results in a cogent sentence, and is the answer.

.(A) The use of the conjunction because shows that the second part of the sentence must be a logical consequence of what is stated in the first part. If the briefest period of idleness bored her, she would have tried to keep herself busy con continuously. Among the choices, it is only the word constantly which gives those meaning, and so (A) is the answer.

.(A) The word for in this sentence means because So, the first part of the sentence must be a logical consequence of what is stated in the second part. Meteors beginning to burn and leaving luminous trails would become bright. It is only the word incandescent among the choices which gives this meaning. So, (a) is the answer.
