GRE is one among the many standardized tests which is emphasized upon by the different schools in U.S. and other English speaking countries for entry into their business and graduate programs. Number of Questions- If you are attempting the computer based revised GRE test then the quantitative reasoning measure will consist of ,two sections to be answered in thirty five minutes each. Each section will have approximately twenty questions. If you are answering the paper based revised GRE test then the quantitative reasoning measure will consist of two sections to be answered in forty minutes each. Each section will have approximately twenty five questions.

Types of Questions- You will have four types of questions in the Quantitative section

Quantitative Comparison- Here you will have to make a comparison between two quantities.

Multiple Choice - Select One- Here you will have to select one answer choice from a list of five answer choices.

Multiple –Choice –Select One or More- Here you will have to select more than one answer choice from a list of choices.

Numeric Entry- In these types of questions you will be asked to enter your answer as an integer or as a decimal in a single answer box or as a fraction in two separate boxes.

Data Interpretation Sets- Sometimes you may be given a table, graph or a data presentation wherein you will have to interpret or analyze the given data. These types of questions may be multiple choice (both types) or numeric entry.

Content of the Questions- The quantitative reasoning measure assesses your basic mathematical skills, your understanding of elementary mathematical concepts and your ability to reason quantitatively, to model and solve problems with quantitative methods which will be assessed through four content areas – Algebra, Arithmetic, Geometry and Data analysis

In GRE Math Review you will have topics from four content areas namely Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry and Data Analysis. Besides having accessible electronic format (Word) edition of the Algebra Chapter of the ETS GRE Math Review, you can also download versions of large print (PDF) and accessible electronic format (Word) of each of the four chapters of the ETS GRE Math Review. In ETS GRE Math Review you will find mathematical equations, expressions and figures. In accessible electronic format (Word) editions, each figure is described by a text which you can skip if you wish to. Similarly, there are mathematical equations and expressions which are accessible as graphic presentation as well as verbal presentation. You can choose any of these presentations to review the given topics.

Content of ETS GRE Math Review:

At the end of the topic you will have geometry exercises for practice.

ETS GRE Math Review-Data Analysis: In the Data Analysis section of the ETS GRE Math Review you will be made to understand how data is used to describe past and present trends and thus predict future trends to make decisions. These concepts will be developed through topics of basic descriptive statistics, interpretation of data in tables, graphs and frequency distributions and probability.

If you have been out of touch with math for a long time, you need not get upset since, most of the content is what you have learnt during your school years. The good news is you will not be tested on calculus, trigonometry, inferential statistics, and ability to construct proofs or any other higher level mathematics.
