1. abrade - To wear away the surface or some part of by friction.
2. grimace - A distortion of the features, occasioned by some feeling of pain, disgust, etc.
3. repine - To indulge in fretfulness and faultfinding.
4. decasyllable - A line of ten syllables.

6. alienate - To cause to turn away.
